BIO
Dr Katie Schlenker is Acting Associate Dean (Education) in the UTS Business School and an Associate Professor in the School of Management. She teaches in the field of event management and has served as Program Director for the Master of Event Management since 2016.
Katie's research interests and publications are in the areas of event evaluation, the social impacts of events, event legacies, events and social capital and business events. Her research is closely linked to industry, and this strong connection ensures that her teaching is research-inspired, applied, and directly relevant to current professional practice.
Katie has held a number of academic leadership roles and has made significant contributions to curriculum development and the enhancement of teaching and learning quality. Katie’s work centres on improving the student experience, leading major curriculum reviews and accreditation processes, and supporting continuous improvement across programs.
