Systems thinking is the core in our research group (here: www.nextlab.au). We exploit optimisation and machine learning algorithms for system design/planning/scheduling/operation, and demand-side management. You are welcome to contact me, if you have a background/interest in optimisation or data analytics and you are passionate to take a postgraduate journey for addressing sustainable development goals (SDGs) especially those in the context of the circular economy, climate change mitigation, energy-water-food nexus, and technological justice.

• Green supply chain framework development based on renewable hydrogen vector

• Long term energy network planning considering renewable energies, energy storage, and uncertainty (including the scenario of 100% renewables)

• Short term unit commitment modelling (optimal power flow) considering energy storage, demand and price uncertainty

• Energy-justice nexus: Optimal electricity tariff design in the decentralised network context

• Peer-to-peer community energy network design and optimisation (cooperation, fairness, selfishness, games, auction, etc.)

• Robustness analysis of energy networks against cascading failure

• Circular Economy: Techno-economic analysis and life cycle assessment of CO2 utilisation and green chemicals within the regional Australian and global economy

• Probabilistic forecast models for electricity demand and price at demand-side

• Energy-water nexus: Optimal design and grid integration of renewable desalination systems
