BIO
Simon is Professor of Learning Informatics in the UTS Transdisciplinary School. From August 2014-2026 he was Director of the Connected Intelligence Centre. He brings to his work a career-long fascination with the potential of software to make thinking visible, to support sensemaking in education, and when tackling wicked problems. His applied research sits at the intersection of the multidisciplinary fields of Human-Computer Interaction, Educational Technology, Hypertext, Collective Intelligence, Computer-Supported Collaboration, Learning Analytics, and AI in Education.
