FUNDED RESEARCH
My interdisciplinary academic work focuses on law and technological change in complex industry sectors, such as telecommunications, broadcasting, news media, digital platforms and cloud services. My research seeks to apply ideas from public law, regulatory theory and political economy to improve understanding of the obligations of regulated industries and develop effective legal and policy responses to problems posed by emerging technologies. I am especially interested in the governance and regulation of quantum technology from an ethical, legal, social and policy implications (ELSPI) perspective. My research on quantum resilience and cybersecurity law and policy provides a theoretical and practical understanding of how emerging technologies challenge existing legal and governance frameworks. Through my academic and policy publications and conference presentations to date, I have presented theoretical, doctrinal and empirical research on resilience, preparedness, and anticipatory governance in the context of emerging technologies. I am interested in participating in collaborative, co-designed and evidence-based policy development with industry and government, and contributing to national and state consultations on public policy matters.
