FUNDED RESEARCH
My research centers around the interaction of electromagnetic fields with complex systems, including their modelling, design, fabrication, characterisation and application.
I welcome collaboration and enjoy mentoring the next generation of scientists and engineers.
My research interests include optical properties of mesoscopic systems, self-assembly and lithography, plasmonic imaging sensing and radiance control, geometric optimization of plasmonic resonators, new materials for plasmonics, spectral angular and polarization control, random and noisy systems, neuromorphic and high performance computing.
I have applied and/or implemented a wide variety of computational methods to efficiently solve research problems, including surface integrals, volume integrals, spherical harmonics, plane wave expansions, finite elements, graph/network analysis, non-linear optical and circuit simulation.
I have expertise in a number of experimental techniques including oblique physical vapour deposition, generalized ellipsometry, spectrophotometry, polarized light microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, electron beam lithography, optical lithography, reactive ion etching. I also enjoy building customised equipment for enabling new discoveries.
